Runner Siame’s Elimination Ends Zanbia’s Dismal Showing At OLYMPICS
200 meters runner Sydney Siame, Zambia last standing representative at the ongoing Olympic Games in Tokyo Japan has also fallen short and eliminated from the games.
Siame failed to progress to the semifinals of the 200m heat 4 race, after coming 4th with a time of 21.01 seconds.
Siame’s elimination completes Zambia’s poor showing at the games where the country’s 32 representatives across various sports did not even manage to reach the medals brackets.
The Women National team were the first to be eliminated in the group stages, followed by boxer, Stephen Zimba and Judoka Steven Mung’andu.
Featherweight and Flyweight Boxers Evaristo Mulenga and Patrick Chinyemba respectively joined the elimination at the round of 16.
The two swimmers Tilka Paljk and Shaquille Moosa only had a feel of the preliminary waters.
