Patson Daka Mourns Loss of Ghanaian Star Dwamena to Cardiac Failure

Zambian striker Patson Daka has joined the global community in expressing sorrow over the tragic demise of former Ghanaian international Raphael Dwamena. The 28-year-old collapsed during a match in Albania on Saturday, succumbing to cardiac failure.

The distressing incident occurred in the 23rd minute of an Albanian topflight clash between KF Egnatia and Partizan. Dwamena, who had a history of cardiac issues, had undergone chest surgery in 2020, wherein a defibrillator was implanted to monitor his cardiac activity during matches.

Throughout his career, Dwamena played for various clubs, including RB Salzburg, Zurich FC, and Levante UD, amassing over 100 goals. Notably, his international debut for the Black Stars in 2017 saw him score a memorable brace against Ethiopia in an Africa Cup of Nations qualification match. Dwamena’s accolades include victories in the Swiss Challenge League, Albanian Cup, and other notable achievements.
