Mweemba Signs Contract with BIIK Kazygurt
Copper Queens defender Lushomo Mweemba has secured a one-and-a-half-year contract with 16-time Kazakhstani Champions BIIK Kazygurt.
Mweemba joins fellow Zambians Martha Tembo and Ireen Lungu at the Shymkent-based club, departing from Green Buffaloes. She is set to join the BIIK squad gearing up for the Kazakhstani Women’s Cup, commencing on 1 May 2024.
BIIK’s initial matches include a clash against Okzhetpes followed by a game against Aktobe two days later. They will then face off against former Copper Queens captain Catherine Musonda’s team, Tomiris-Turan, on 5 May, concluding their fixtures against Ordabasy on 9 May.
BIIK Kazygurt has been a significant platform for several Copper Queens players, including Racheal Kundananji, Grace Chanda, Prisca Chilufya, and Hellen Chanda, all of whom have previously represented the 11-time Kazakhstani Cup champions.
