Mufulira Wanderers Respond to Bwembya Kakungu’s Six-Month Prison Sentence
Following the arrest of Mufulira Wanderers defender Bwembya Kakungu , who was sentenced to six months in prison following his conviction for assault.
Mufulira Wanderers Football Club has taken note of the conviction and subsequent six-month prison sentence handed down to its player, Bwembya Kakungu, for assault.
The Club respects the decision of the Court and wishes to state that violence and assault have no place in Mufulira Wanderers Football Club, football, or society. The Club upholds the values of discipline, respect, and responsible conduct, both on and off the field.
The Club is reviewing the matter in accordance with its internal policies, the player’s contractual obligations, and applicable football regulations. Any further decision regarding the player’s status will be communicated through the appropriate channels.
