Green Buffaloes Women Bolster Squad With Vast Phiri Signing

Green Buffaloes Women Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of experienced central defender Vast Phiri from ZESCO Ndola Girls Football Club on a permanent transfer.

The defender arrives with a wealth of experience at both domestic and international level, having previously represented the Zambia Women’s National Team and competed on some of the biggest stages in women’s football.

Phiri is a strong, composed and disciplined defender whose reading of the game, leadership and experience will add valuable depth and quality to the Green Buffaloes defensive department.

Her international experience includes a call-up to the Zambia squad for the 2018 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. She was also part of the national team squad for the delayed 2020 Olympic Games, featured in Zambia’s squad for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and made a cameo appearance at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

With her experience of playing at the highest level, Phiri brings not only defensive strength but also valuable experience that will benefit the team both on and off the pitch.

As we look ahead to the new season, we believe her arrival will further strengthen our squad and add another experienced voice to the team.
