Kennedy Musonda Boosts Yanga SC’s CAF Champions League Win
Zambian forward Kennedy Musonda played a pivotal role in Young Africans’ resurgence in the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League, contributing to a convincing 3-0 home victory over 10-man Medeama on Wednesday.
Musonda’s header, seemingly deflected off Bakari Mwamnyeto, found the net, adding to the team’s momentum. Pacome Zouzoua initiated the scoring for Young Africans in the 31st minute, and second-half goals from Bakari Mwamnyeto and Mudathiri Yahya secured a decisive win.
This triumph marks Yanga’s first in the CAF Champions League group stage in a quarter of a century.
The outcome positions Young Africans second in Group D, trailing leaders Al Ahly solely on goal difference as they approach the final two rounds of the competition
