Copper Princesses Aim to Complete Mission in Dar es Salaam
The Zambia U17 Women’s National Team has embarked on their journey to Dar es Salaam in preparation for their upcoming match against the Serengeti Girls of Tanzania in the second round of the 2024 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifier, scheduled for this Sunday.
Led by coach Carol Kanyemba, the 20-member squad departed from Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka aboard Air Tanzania at 13h15.
Their aim is to build upon their impressive 5-0 victory in the first leg, achieved through goals from captain Blessings Zangose Zulu, as well as strikes from Saliya Mwanza, Namute Chileshe, and Ruth Muwowo.
The winner of this two-legged tie will advance to face either Uganda or Cameroon in the third round. The initial encounter between these two teams ended in a 1-1 draw at St. Mary’s Stadium-Kitende in Entebbe.
