FAZ Unveils KoPa Ball as Official Match Ball for Premier Leagues
In a groundbreaking collaboration, the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has teamed up with Reliable Utilities Zambia to address a persistent concern in football by introducing the KoPa ball as the official match ball for the top-tier leagues.
The partnership, solidified after a successful pilot project during the ABSA Cup, sees Reliable Utilities becoming the official KoPa ball partner, tasked with manufacturing FIFA-approved KoPa balls for Premier League teams at a reasonable price. This strategic alliance aims to instill uniformity and promote fair play in both the Super and National Division One leagues, catering to both men’s and women’s football.
The KoPa ball will now be mandatory for all Super League teams, ensuring a consistent and high-quality playing experience. Local dealers can also procure match and training balls from Reliable Utilities through appointed distribution centers.
As part of this initiative, FAZ is taking a step further by providing substantial equipment support. A total of 7,000 match balls, valued at K17,500,000, will be distributed to all 1,400 provincial teams in two phases according to the FAZ seasonal calendar. This move underscores FAZ’s commitment to fostering football development at the grassroots level.
In a promising announcement, FAZ President Andrew Kamanga hinted at additional equipment support in the coming weeks, emphasizing the organization’s dedication to provincial football growth.
As the football community eagerly anticipates these positive changes, President Kamanga also urged fans to rally behind the Chipolopolo boys in their upcoming World Cup qualifiers game against Congo Brazaville in Ndola next Friday. This call to action signifies FAZ’s belief in the power of fan support and the role it plays in driving the success of Zambian football on the international stage.
