Organized by OYDC Zambia and backed by Coen Teulings, Chairman of Merifin Capital in Belgium, the event showcased the rising popularity of Baseball5 in the region while fostering cross-border camaraderie.
In a series of intense matchups, the Zambian athletes demonstrated their dominance by clinching victory in all games against their Zimbabwean counterparts. This exchange provided invaluable exposure for the Zambian players, offering insights into diverse playing styles and strategies, as noted by Kenny Matishi, General Secretary of the Zambia Baseball & Softball Association.
Matishi expressed appreciation to OYDC Zambia for incorporating Baseball 5 into the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge, stressing the significance of knowledge-sharing with neighboring nations to bolster the sport’s growth.
