Daka Benched as Leicester City Secures Victory Against PNE

Chipolopolo striker Patson Daka watched from the bench as Leicester City clinched the EFL Championship title in style, defeating Preston North End 3-0 in their penultimate match at Deepdale.

Veteran forward Jamie Vardy scored twice, with Kasey Mcateer adding another goal. Vardy, the team’s top scorer, has notched up 20 goals in all competitions this season.

With 97 points from 45 matches, Leicester leads the table by seven points over second-placed Leeds United, with one game remaining.

Leicester will receive the Championship trophy on Saturday in front of their fans at the King Power Stadium when they face Blackburn Rovers at 13:30hrs CAT. Leicester’s win marks their eighth EFL Championship title, the most by any club.

This victory adds to Daka’s collection of silverware with Leicester, having previously won the 2021 Community Shield with the club. Daka contributed seven goals and five assists to Leicester’s successful campaign.
