Zambia U-17 Women Crush DR Congo 5-0 In World Cup Qualifier First Leg

The Zambia Under-17 Women’s National Team delivered a commanding display after thrashing the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) 5-0 in the first leg of the second round of the FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

The Copper Princesses controlled the match from the opening stages and were rewarded in the 23rd minute when Grace Phiri opened the scoring before Natasha Kasema doubled the advantage just before halftime to give Zambia a comfortable 2-0 lead at the break.

In the second half, Kasema continued her brilliant performance by completing a hat-trick as Zambia extended their dominance over the visitors.

Blessings Mutale later added the fifth goal from the penalty spot deep into stoppage time, sealing an emphatic victory and putting the Copper Princesses in a strong position ahead of the return leg.
