Zambia Super League Takes a Break

Zambia Super League Takes a Break

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has announced that the Super League will be on hiatus during the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to commence next month.

According to FAZ General Secretary Reuben Kamanga, this decision was reached in collaboration with the Zambian Premier League.

The consensus took various factors into account, including the absence of players on national duty and the importance of enabling fans to focus on the tournament without distractions.

The mid-season break is set to take place from January 15 to February 12, 2024. Kamanga emphasized that the league’s continuity will not impact the Week 17 mid-season cap for qualified teams participating in the 2024 ABSA Cup.

The Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is slated to begin on January 13, 2024. This information was conveyed in an official statement released by FAZ Communications Manager Sydney Mungala to ZNBC Sports News.
