VAR Introduction in Super League Applauded by Analysts

Football analysts have expressed approval for the initiative by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) to introduce Video Assistant Referee (VAR) in the upcoming season of the MTN Super League.

According to Musonda Chibulu, the implementation of VAR is expected to minimize errors made by referees. Chibulu conveyed to ZNBC news that even though VAR is set to be a pilot project in the next season, its introduction is poised to elevate the overall standard of the game within the country.

In addition, Julius Malulu highlighted that VAR is likely to contribute to improved discipline and professionalism among players. The anticipation is that the incorporation of VAR technology will have a positive impact on the conduct and behavior of footballers in the league.
