The MTN Super League Set to Resume This Weekend
The Zambian 2023/2024 MTN Super League is set to recommence this weekend on February 17 following a month-long hiatus prompted by the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where Ivory Coast emerged as champions.
Andrew Kamanga, President of the Football Association of Zambia, expressed optimism that the investments made during the break will enhance the competitiveness of the teams, aiming to reclaim their position at the forefront of continental football rankings. “We are eager to see our teams return to the top of the continental fold where we have slid in the last few years,” he stated.
Kamanga also expressed hope for a smoother and more disciplined second half of the season, anticipating a reduction in disciplinary cases.
The reopening match will feature Napsa Stars FC taking on the 5th-placed Kabwe Warriors on Saturday at 13:00 hours.
With Zesco United leading the league table with 39 points and a narrow one-point advantage over Red Arrows FC in second place, teams will be determined to climb the ranks and vie for the league title.
