Lameck Banda Reported to FIFA by Lecce Amid Contract Dispute
Italian Serie A side US Lecce have formally reported Zambian winger Lameck Banda to FIFA after the player allegedly failed to report for pre-season training despite remaining under contract with the club.
In a strongly worded complaint, Lecce have also copied the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as the dispute continues to develop. The Italian club are reportedly seeking $12 million in compensation from Libyan side Al Swehli, who are said to be in advanced discussions with the Zambian international.
Banda has been an important figure for Lecce in recent seasons, but his reported absence from the start of pre-season preparations has now created a major contractual dispute.
