Kaindu Returns to Highlanders FC in Zimbabwe
Kelvin Kaindu, aged 46, has recently been reinstated as the head coach for Zimbabwean side Highlanders FC, marking his return to the club after a nine-year hiatus. Kaindu previously led the team from 2012 to 2014.
The club officially confirmed this development through social media, expressing their delight in announcing Kaindu’s appointment as the new head coach for the first team.
Highlighting Kaindu’s familiarity with Highlanders, the announcement mentioned his earlier association with the club as a player in 1997 and his previous stint as the Bosso dugout leader from 2012 to 2014.
The club’s management extended warm wishes to the Zambian coach, expressing their hope for success in his new role. They welcomed Kaindu back to the Highlanders family, emphasizing the significance of this new chapter for both the coach and the club.
Kelvin Kaindu steps into the role, succeeding Brazilian Brito Baltemar, who departed to assume responsibilities as the head coach of the Zimbabwe national team.
Having been without a club for the past eight months following his departure from Zanaco in April, Kaindu brings a wealth of coaching experience.
In Zambia, he oversaw Nkana, Power Dynamos (their bitter rivals) between 2018 and 2019 upon his return, and Buildcon. In Zimbabwe, Kaindu has previously coached Highlanders, Triangle, and How Mine Football clubs.
