Green Buffaloes Women’s FC Crushes Kabwe Celtic Queens 10-0
Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club maintained their flawless start to the new season with a resounding 10-0 victory over Kabwe Celtic Queens.
Maweta Chilenga notched a hat-trick, marking her second of the season, as the defending champions secured the most significant win of the season. Salome Phiri contributed two goals, while Agness Phiri, Diana Banda, Memory Nthala, Margaret Chisenga, and Lucy Kajiya each added a goal to the tally.
This triumph propelled Buffaloes to the third spot on the league table with 12 points, just three points behind the leaders, Red Arrows, who have played two more matches.
On the other hand, Red Arrows Women’s winning streak came to a halt with a 1-0 loss to YASA Queens at Nkoloma Stadium. Thanda Onnielle Mokgabo’s lone goal proved enough to grant the Kalingalinga-based side maximum points.
At Independence Stadium, National Assembly and Queens Academy played to a 1-1 draw, while ZANACO Ladies were dealt a surprising 1-0 defeat by Kamfisa Blue Eagles on Saturday.
Margaret Gondwe salvaged a point for Luyando Foundation Girls in their 1-1 draw with Indeni Roses. ZISD claimed a 2-1 away win in Solwezi over Police Dove Queens, thanks to Lungowe Namasiku’s brace.
In another exciting matchup, Trident Queens emerged victorious with a 4-2 scoreline against Nkwazi Queens, with Ngosa Chabwe finding the net on her return to Edwin Imboela Stadium for the first time since the switch.
