Grant to Step Down from Cosafa Team Leadership
Avram Grant will not be leading the Cosafa squad next week.
Instead, according to sources at Football House, a local coach will take charge of the Chipolopolo Boys in South Africa.
This decision is part of an effort to expose local coaches to international football, a move that was also undertaken last year.
Last year, assistant coach Moses Sichone guided Zambia to a record seventh title.
Grant has since left for Europe and is expected to return in August ahead of the AFCON qualifiers in September.
Similarly, Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has left his assistant coach Helman Makhelele in charge of drilling the Cosafa squad.
Zambia is in Group B alongside Kenya, Zimbabwe, and Comoros.
The tournament is scheduled to run from June 27 to July 7, with the Chipolopolo Boys aiming for a third straight title.
