Chisamba Returns to Russia for Coaching Course
Former Zambia midfielder Chisamba Lungu has returned to Russia.
The 2012 AFCON winner traveled there a fortnight ago for a coaching course.
“Yes, Chisamba is in Russia. The owner of Vista Academy [Tigran] was behind his move to Georgia and Russia in 2009,” a ZamFoot Crew source revealed.
“He was recently in Zambia on a scouting mission and linked up with Chisamba,” the source added. “It’s a good opportunity for Chisamba.
Vista is one of the top academies in Russia and has sister clubs in Armenia and Bulgaria.”
Chisamba is currently a player-coach at newly promoted Super League side Atletico Lusaka.
He spent over 8 years in Eastern Europe, playing for Baia Zugdidi and Ural.
He began his career at Kafue FC before loan spells at Zanaco.
After his European adventure, he returned home and had spells at Buildcon, Nkana, and Zanaco.
Chisamba is considered one of the most talented players of his generation.
