The anticipation is building as the 2023/24 MTN Super League season in Zambia is set to kick off with a thrilling lineup of matches. Football enthusiasts can look forward to action-packed games, new recruitments, and some of the country’s top teams competing for victory.
The season opener is scheduled for Friday, August 18th, with Nkwazi taking on newcomers Konkola Blades at the Edwin Imboela Stadium in Lusaka. The match, which starts at 15:00, will be broadcast live on SuperSport and GOtv. After narrowly escaping relegation in the previous season, Nkwazi aims to kickstart their new campaign with a positive outcome against Konkola Blades, a side that secured fourth place in the FAZ National Division One League.
As defending champions Power Dynamos and the 2022/23 runner-up FC MUZA are away for CAF competitions, Week One fixtures will feature other exciting matchups. On Saturday, a captivating double-header at Woodlands Stadium awaits football fans. NAPSA Stars will host Zesco United in a lunch-time kick-off, followed by Nkana FC facing off against Red Arrows in the afternoon.
Sunday’s action continues as legendary cup fighters Mufulira Wanderers host Green Buffaloes at Shinde Stadium, while Forest Rangers take on Kabwe Warriors in a match hosted at Nkana Stadium.
The season’s opening week comes to an end with a midweek clash on Wednesday, August 30th, featuring Prison Leopards against Power Dynamos at Godfrey Chitalu Stadium and FC MUZA versus ZANACO at Nakambala Stadium.
