Elite Ladies Announce Exclusive Rates for Xiomara Mapepa

FAZ Women’s Super Division team, Elite Ladies, has officially set a price tag for their standout player, Xiomara Mapepa.
Elite Ladies made the announcement on social media, indicating that they are willing to entertain offers for the talented left-footed winger, with a starting bid of $10,000. The club emphasized their commitment to transparency, stating that Mapepa has been informed that she is free to leave if a suitable offer is presented.
In a statement, Elite Ladies clarified their position, highlighting that, like any player in their squad, Mapepa is available for transfer to other clubs.
The club operates as a social enterprise, and player sales contribute significantly to sustaining their operations.
Elite Ladies revealed that they had previously sent Mapepa for trials in Sweden, though she was unsuccessful. Currently, discussions are underway regarding potential deals for the player.
Addressing recent allegations from Mapepa, Elite Ladies emphasized that they have never hindered any player from leaving and that Mapepa had been informed a month ago of her freedom to depart upon receiving a suitable offer. The club expressed frustration with what they deemed as illegal approaches, particularly from local clubs engaging in direct negotiations with the player without submitting proper transfer fee offers.
The club clarified that they are open to offers from both local and international clubs, but any proposal must exceed $10,000.
This response comes in light of Mapepa’s claims that the team was obstructing her transfer despite having multiple offers on the table.
Mapepa, who has been the leading goal-scorer in the FAZ Women’s Super Division for the past two seasons, and a key player in the Copper Queens’ WAFCON 2022 campaign, missed Elite Ladies’ recent trip to Chipata.
The club reported that she withdrew from the journey without explanation at the last minute and had not participated in training throughout the week.
In response, Mapepa defended herself against these claims in an interview with Wami Katanga.
