Edward Chilufya’s BK Hacken Clinch Comeback Victory Against Hammarby IF
Edward Chilufya’s BK Hacken displayed resilience and determination as they fought back from a goal down to secure a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Hammarby IF in round four of the Swedish Allsvenskan league. The thrilling encounter took place on Sunday afternoon at Bravida Arena, where Hacken showcased their resolve to secure their second win of the season.
The Zambian international midfielder, currently on loan from Danish side FC Midtyllands until June 2024, played a pivotal role for Hacken. Named in the starting lineup by coach Per-Arne Johansen, Chilufya aimed to make a significant impact on the game.
However, it was the visitors who struck first, with Edvin Kurtulus finding the back of the net just 30 minutes into the first half to give Hammarby IF the lead. Despite Chilufya’s efforts, Hacken struggled to break through the opposition’s defense, leading to Chilufya being substituted at halftime to make way for Blair Turgott.
Determined to stage a comeback, Hacken intensified their efforts in the second half. Their perseverance paid off when Simon Gustafson equalized in the 62nd minute, injecting new life into the game. As the clock ticked down, Hacken continued to push forward, and their persistence was rewarded when Even Hovland netted the winner three minutes from time, securing all three points for Hacken.
Despite the victory, Hacken experienced a drop in the league standings, moving from 5th to 6th place with 7 points from the opening four games of the season. However, the win serves as a morale boost for the team as they look ahead to future challenges.
Chilufya, eager to further improve his performance, will be focused on making a significant impact when Hacken travels to face IFK Göteborg on Wednesday. With his talent and determination, Chilufya aims to contribute to his team’s success and help propel them to further victories in the Allsvenskan league.
