During the launch of the Zambian Premier League (ZPL) consultative meeting at the Golden Peacock Hotel, FAZ President Andrew Kamanga emphasized the importance of maintaining the integrity of the game and urged clubs to guard against match-fixing. Kamanga highlighted that match-fixing undermines the credibility of football and emphasized FAZ’s commitment to combating this issue by introducing initiatives such as Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology.

Addressing the attendees, Kamanga stated, “It gives me great pleasure to be part of this progressive gathering that brings together members of the Zambian Premier League. We are always delighted to engage you, our members, through the ZPL platform.” He urged clubs to refrain from engaging in match-fixing, emphasizing the severe consequences that come with such actions.

Kamanga acknowledged the competitive nature of the league, especially during the fight for relegation and championship titles, and urged clubs to uphold professionalism and fair play. He stressed that results should be determined solely on the pitch and not through unethical means, reminding clubs that the repercussions of match-fixing are significant.
