Copper Queens Prepare for Morocco Clash on Road to Paris 2024
The Zambia Women’s National Team has reconvened in Ndola ahead of their crucial April 5, 2024, Paris Olympics final round qualifier against Morocco.
Locally based players gathered on Sunday and attended the Ndola derby, where Indeni Roses and ZESCO Ndola Girls played to a 1-1 draw. Rhoda Chileshe, Eunice Sakala, Charity Mubanga, Fridah Kabwe, and Vast Phiri, all of whom have been called up, participated in the match.
Coach Bruce Mwape recently unveiled a 34-player squad summoned for next month’s back-to-back 2024 Paris Olympics qualifier matches against Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses.
The Copper Queens will host the Atlas Lionesses at 19:00 on Friday, April 5, 2024, before traveling for the away match on April 9. The overall winner over two legs will secure one of the two available spots for African nations at the Olympics.
The other slot will be determined by the outcome of the Nigeria versus South Africa clash to complete Africa’s two representatives at the global event.
