Copper Princesses’ Match Against Morocco Moved to Heroes Stadium
The Zambia U17 Women’s National Team’s fourth and final round of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers against Morocco has been relocated to Heroes Stadium.
Initially scheduled for Nkoloma Stadium, the match has been moved to the National Heroes Stadium.
This change was necessary due to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) refusing to allow Chesstone-based stadiums to host the match.
It remains unclear why there is an issue with Nkoloma Stadium, as it was deemed suitable to host the match against Tanzania in the second round.
Morocco secured their place against Zambia with an 8-0 aggregate victory over Algeria in the previous round.
The Copper Princesses advanced to the final round with a 2-1 aggregate victory over Uganda.
Zambia will be aiming for a positive start in the two-legged tie, as they have struggled away from home in the first two rounds, losing both games by a single goal.
Zambia’s last qualification for the FIFA U17 World Cup was in 2014, with a squad that included players like Barbra Banda, Hazel Nali, Ireen Lungu, Margaret Belemu, and Grace Chanda.
Tickets for the match are now on sale nationwide at ShopRite stores via Computicketing, with VIP tickets priced at K100 and the rest of the pitch at K30.
The return leg is scheduled for June 15th in Morocco. The Dominican Republic will host this year’s FIFA World Cup tournament, which will take place from October 16th to November 3rd, 2024.
