Copper Princesses Coach Reduces Squad Size

Zambia’s U17 Women’s national team coach, Carol Kanyemba, has made the final selection for the squad, reducing the number of players from 35 to 25. The team, known as the Copper Princesses, is gearing up for the FIFA 2024 U17 World Cup in the Dominican Republic, where they will face Uganda in a two-legged tie.

The first leg of the match will be held on 12th May at Lusaka’s Nkoloma Stadium, with Zambia hosting Uganda. Five days later, the East African team will host Zambia at Kitende’s St. Mary’s Stadium.

The winner between Morocco and Algeria will then face either Zambia or Uganda. In the previous round, Zambia eliminated Tanzania.
