Chisi Mbewe: Urges Team to Secure Victory Against Comoros
Zambia coach Chisi Mbewe has vowed that his team will do everything possible to defeat Comoros in their final Group B match at the ongoing 2024 Cosafa Cup.
Despite being the holders, Zambia was eliminated from the tournament following a 2-0 loss to Zimbabwe in the Battle of Zambezi. This defeat marked their second in the tournament, with the first being a 1-0 loss to Kenya on match day 1.
Zambia will face Comoros on Tuesday. While Zambia will be playing for pride, the Islanders can secure a spot in the next stage with a win.
“I think it is not going to be easy. Comoros are also playing good football,” Mbewe said.
“We just need to ensure that we win the last game and make sure we walk out of the tournament with a win.”
Zimbabwe leads the group with 6 points, while Kenya and Comoros each have 3 points. Zambia is at the bottom of Group B.
Zambia has gone 8 games without a win in all competitions, marking the longest winless streak in Chipolopolo history.
