Chipyoka Reacts To His Team’s Rise To Israel’s Premier League

Zambia’s rising star Songa Chipyoka and his club, Hapoel Petah Tikva, have earned promotion to Israel’s top-tier league following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Bnei Yehuda on Monday.
The 20-year-old Chipolopolo winger played a crucial role in Petah Tikva’s successful Liga Leumit campaign, recording six goals and seven assists in 29 league appearances. Across all competitions this season, Chipyoka tallied seven goals and eight assists in 34 matches, showcasing his growing influence on the pitch.
Chipolopolo head coach Avram Grant, who began his managerial career at Petah Tikva, was present at the match and personally congratulated Chipyoka. Grant handed the young attacker his senior national team debut in 2024, and his progress continues to impress.
Celebrating the promotion, Chipyoka took to social media to express his excitement. “Promotion secured. Now we aim for the league title!” he posted on Facebook. “Proud to be part of this incredible team with such amazing fans.”
With Petah Tikva set to compete in Israel’s top division next season, Chipyoka will look to maintain his strong performances and solidify his place in Zambia’s squad for the upcoming 2025 AFCON and the remaining FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
