Grace Chanda Completes Move to Orlando Pride

The Orlando Pride have officially announced the signing of Zambian midfielder Grace Chanda on a two-year deal, marking a significant addition to their roster.

Chanda, who currently plays for Madrid CFF in Spain’s Liga F, will join the Pride in July, following the expiration of her contract with the Spanish club.

Chanda’s signing adds further depth and quality to the Pride’s midfield and attack. The club’s VP of Soccer Operations and General Manager, Haley Carter, praised Chanda’s abilities and expressed excitement about her arrival.

Chanda herself expressed her enthusiasm about joining Orlando, highlighting the opportunity to play alongside talented players like Marta and Barbra.

The midfielder has had a remarkable career so far, being shortlisted for the African Women’s Footballer of the Year award in 2022 and making history as the first Zambian woman to play in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Her return to club play with Madrid was marked by a goal just 11 minutes into her comeback match, demonstrating her skill and impact on the field.

Chanda’s international experience with the Zambian Women’s National Team further underscores her talent, having represented her country at the Africa Women Cup of Nations and playing a crucial role in Zambia’s qualification for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

With this signing, Orlando Pride has secured a promising talent and added a player who is poised to make a significant impact both on and off the field.
