Samukonga, already securing a spot in the Olympics, demonstrated his skill by finishing first in the semifinals with an impressive time of 45.51 seconds. His stellar performance positioned him as a strong contender for gold in the finals. Senegalese athlete Diouf Cheikh Tidiane followed closely behind, securing second place with a time of 45.59 seconds.
