Lameck Banda Ruled Out of Four Nations Tournament Due to Injury

Italy-based winger Lameck Banda will miss this month’s Four Nations joint tournament due to a knee injury sustained during US Lecce’s match against Fiorentina. He is currently undergoing treatment. In his place, South Africa-based Gamphani Lungu will join the squad, having been in good form recently.

Coach Grant selected a strong squad, including many players who participated in the Africa Cup of Nations. The tournament, featuring Kenya, Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, is scheduled to take place in Lilongwe, Malawi, during the upcoming FIFA international window from March 18 to 26, 2024. It is designed to help the teams prepare for the June round of FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
