FAZ DC Issues Fines and Suspensions to Eastern Province Teams

The FAZ Disciplinary Committee has imposed fines and suspensions on several Eastern Province teams, including Chipata City Council, Mikalile FC, Young Nkwazi, and Malambo United.
These teams were found to have violated various regulations outlined in the disciplinary code.

Chipata City Council faced disciplinary action after players and officials allegedly attacked the referee following a 3-2 loss to Mikalile in a Football Association of Zambia Eastern Province Division One fixture.

The match between Young Nkwazi and Malambo United was abandoned, leading to a K10,000 fine for Young Nkwazi for causing the abandonment.
The match was forfeited in favor of Malambo United with a 3-0 scoreline.

In a statement released after the FAZ disciplinary committee sitting on December 2, 2023, the Football Association of Zambia charged Eastern Province FAZ soccer clubs found guilty of violating disciplinary regulations.
Chipata City Council Football Club received sanctions, with five players and two technical officials facing six months suspension and a K5,000 fine each for assaulting a match official.
Head Coach Vincent Chisanga and physical trainer John Phiri were given 12 months suspension and a K5,000 fine each for bringing the game and association into disrepute and inciting violence.
The team also received a K10,000 fine and will play their seven home games at Gondar Barracks ground without carrying any supporters.

Mikalile FC was fined K5,000, and their team official John Nyirenda received a K5,000 fine with a one-match ban for unsporting conduct and violating fair play principles by attempting to influence match officials to change the match balls.

Young Nkwazi faced a K10,000 fine for causing an abandonment in the match against Malambo United, which was forfeited with a 3-0 scoreline in favor of Malambo United.
Head Coach Keegan Mwape received a K5,000 fine with a three-match suspension for bringing the game, club, and association into disrepute.

Malambo United was fined K5,000 and will play their next two home games at Chips United ground.

Two Sinda United players, Mathews Daka and Innocent Phiri, were found guilty of assaulting a match official during their game against Katete Rangers and received a six-month suspension and a K5,000 fine each.

Disciplinary Committee Secretary Shepherd Mulwanda stated that all aggrieved clubs have the right to appeal within 72 hours.
