Champions of Netball from Africa Arrive
The triumphant Zambia Women’s National Netball Team has returned home to a warm reception. Enthusiastic netball fans gathered at the Zambia Air Force (ZAF) Airport in Lusaka to welcome the team.
Among those present at the airport to greet the players was Raphael Mulenga, the Acting General Secretary of the National Sports Council of Zambia.
In a thrilling final, Zambia emerged victorious over Namibia with a narrow 57-55 win, clinching the title in sudden death after two quarters of extra time.
The team’s captain, Beauty Nakazwe, received recognition as the best shooter, while Elizabeth Bwalya earned the title of the best midcourt player.
During the trophy presentation ceremony at the Ministry of Youth, Sport, and Arts, Permanent Secretary Kangwa Chileshe expressed commendation for the team, acknowledging their historic achievement.
