Edward Chilufya To Miss Zambia Vs. Niger World Cup Qualifier Due To Illness

Zambia’s winger, Edward Chilufya, who plays in Sweden, will be absent from the upcoming World Cup qualifier against Niger due to health concerns. Chilufya, initially expected to join the Chipolopolo squad in Morocco, had to stay back as a result of an unspecified illness.

Chipolopolo assistant coach, Moses Sichone, confirmed Chilufya’s absence, highlighting that the winger is undergoing treatment for the illness. However, the specific nature of his condition remains undisclosed.

“Unfortunately, we have only one patient Edward Chilufya who remained back home because of sickness. We’re not a hundred percent sure about his illness,” remarked Coach Moses Sichone.

Chilufya had a brief appearance as a substitute in Zambia’s recent 4-2 triumph over Congo Brazzaville. Despite the setback, the team is focused on addressing health concerns and maintaining their performance in the ongoing World Cup qualifying campaign.
