Zesco United Recognized Top Performers Of The 2025/26 Season
ZESCO United Football Club brought the curtains down on the 2025/26 season in style after hosting a glamorous End of Season Awards Gala at Mukuba Hotel on Sunday, May 24, 2026. The event attracted players, club officials, sponsors, stakeholders and invited guests who gathered to celebrate the club’s journey throughout the campaign and honour individuals who made a strong impact during the season.
The colourful evening was graced by Copperbelt Permanent Secretary Mr. Lawrence Mwanza, whose attendance reflected Government’s continued support towards the development of football and sport in Zambia. The ceremony also highlighted the important role played by partners, supporters and the wider ZESCO United family in helping the club maintain its competitive standards on and off the pitch.
Despite a season that did not entirely match the club’s traditional expectations, several players were recognised for their outstanding contributions. Midfielder Abraham Siakombo emerged as the biggest winner on the night after scooping both the Footballer of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season awards following his influential performances throughout the campaign.
Experienced defender Kabaso Chongo was honoured with the Most Consistent Player award, while goalkeeper Lindo Mukonta received the Most Disciplined Player accolade for his professionalism and conduct during the season. In attack, Amine Hiver enjoyed a memorable evening after collecting both the Top Scorer Award and the Fans’ Player of the Season award after a strong run of performances in front of goal.
The club also took time to recognise emerging talent within the squad, with youngster Derrick being named Young Player of the Season. His recognition underlined the club’s continued investment in youth development and the promising future that still lies ahead for Team Ya Ziko as they prepare for another competitive campaign next season.

The gala was filled with celebration, pride and emotional moments as players and staff reflected on the highs and challenges of the season. While the campaign may not have fully met expectations, the awards night served as a reminder of the quality, experience and ambition that still exists within the ZESCO United setup. With the foundation still firmly in place, the Ndola giants will once again be expected to challenge strongly in the upcoming season.
