Panathinaikos Seal €4 Million Deal for Zambia Star Kings Kangwa

Panathinaikos FC announces the acquisition of Kings Kangwa. The 27-year-old midfielder from Zambia came to the Clover on a transfer from the Israeli Hapoel Beer Sheva and signed a four-year contract.

Kings Kangwa was born on 6 April 1999 in Kasama, Zambia. He started his football career in his homeland with Happy Hearts, before playing for Buildcon, having previously spent some time with Hapoel Beer Sheva. In 2019, at the age of 20, he moved to Europe to join Russian club Arsenal Tula, where he stayed for three years and made his first major international appearances.

In the summer of 2022, he was acquired by Red Star Belgrade. With the Belgrade team, he won the championship and the Serbian Cup in the 2022-23 season, contributing decisively to the path to the double with 37 appearances and 11 goals.

In February 2024, he was loaned to Belgian side Kortrijk and in the summer of the same year he returned to Hapoel Beer Sheva on a transfer. In his first season, he won the Israeli Cup and in his second, the championship, playing a pivotal role. In total, during the two years he remained with the team, he made 84 appearances, scored 29 goals and provided 20 assists.

At the national team level, he has been an international with Zambia since 2019, counting 43 appearances and seven goals.
