ZESCO United Beat Buildcon 3-2 Away From Home
Zesco beat Buildcon 3-2 away from home to move to within 10 points of Buffaloes with two games in hand. It was also their first league victory in five games.
Zesco United cut into the lead of MTN Super League pacesetters Green Buffaloes on Sunday after the pair had contrasting results in two excellent games.
The visitors looked to be cruising when they went into the break 2-0 up after goals from Kelvin Kampamba and Samson Mkandawire, but there were jitters when Brian Mwila converted a penalty for Buildcon with 20 minutes to play.
Chitiya Mususu extended the lead for Zesco once more, but they were in for a nail-biting finish as Patrick Ngoma scored again for the home side.
Derrick Bulaya scored a brace of goals for the home side, one in each half, as they continued their excellent form of late and did the rest of the division a favor by halting Buffaloes’ charge.
