ZESCO Breaks Silence on Lighting Interruption at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium

Zesco Limited acknowledges the power disturbance during the Zambia–Togo match at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium last night.

The disturbance occurred at 18:21 hours and lasted 0.2 seconds. However, the design of the affected stadium floodlights requires approximately 20 minutes for them to return to full brightness after a power disturbance.

Zesco will engage the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Arts to look into redesigning the stadium’s lighting system to minimise the risk of similar disruptions during future matches.

Zesco congratulates the Chipolopolo Boys on their victory and remains committed to supporting reliable power supply for sporting events.
