Zambian Women’s Hockey League Undergoes Restructuring to Foster Talent and Competition
In a bid to enhance competitiveness and unearth emerging talent, the Zambian Women’s Hockey League is undergoing a significant transformation. According to National Team Coach Floyd Chomba, the league will now be restructured into two tiers, with established teams competing in the top league and developing clubs in a second tier.
Coach Chomba expressed optimism that this restructuring will fuel growth within the sport. Established teams will be motivated to reach new heights of performance, while developing clubs will have a dedicated space to refine their skills and gain invaluable experience.
The overarching objective of this initiative is to identify and nurture Zambia’s top talent. By expanding the talent pool and fostering competition at both tiers, Coach Chomba believes they can assemble a more formidable National Team capable of competing at the highest levels.
