Zambian Flair on Display in Tanzania Community Shield

Clatous Chota Chama returns to face his former side, with Kennedy Musonda and Joshua ‘Budo’ Mutale expected to be in action.

Three Zambian players will take the field this evening when YANGA SC and Simba SC clash in the Community Shield.

The season curtain-raiser for the Tanzania Mainland League kicks off at 18:00 at the 60,000-capacity Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

Joshua ‘Budo’ Mutale, who recently joined Simba SC from Super League side Power Dynamos, will go up against his compatriots Kennedy Musonda and Clatous Chota Chama.

Chama recently transferred to YANGA SC after spending five and a half years with Simba SC, making this his first match against his former team. Mutale, seen as Chama’s replacement, will be eager to make an impression in this match.

Mutale was a key player for Power Dynamos in recent seasons, including their league-winning 2022/2023 campaign.

Chama will aim to replicate the stellar performances he delivered for Simba SC, which made him a cult hero for the Wekundu wa Msimbazi.

Kennedy Musonda, who has been with YANGA SC for a year and a half, has already won two league titles, two Federation Cup titles, and a CAF Confederation Cup silver medal.

The former Lusaka Dynamos, Green Eagles, and ZANACO forward has been instrumental in YANGA SC’s success.

YANGA SC has dominated Tanzanian football over the past three seasons, winning three consecutive Tanzania Mainland Premier League titles, bringing their total to 30 titles.
