Zambia U17 Staves Off Rwanda to March On in 2026 World Cup Chase

Zambia’s U17 Women’s National Team have advanced to the next stage of the 2026 FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers after a hard-fought 2-1 comeback victory over Rwanda.

Trailing early after Sylvie Umwanankundi’s 15th-minute opener for the visitors, the Copper Princesses showed grit and determination. Faith Kajiya Kapilingo leveled the scores in the 74th minute, before Natasha Kasema converted from the penalty spot in the 82nd minute to complete the turnaround.

The result handed Zambia a commanding 4-1 aggregate win, setting up a second-round clash with Congo DR.
