Zambia U-15 Football Team to Debut in COSAFA Qualifiers

The Zambia Under-15 Football Team is gearing up to make its debut at the CAF African Schools Football Championship, COSAFA Qualifiers, scheduled for December 14-16, 2023, in Zimbabwe. In a departure from the previous edition in Lilongwe, Malawi in 2022, Zambia is fielding teams in both the Boys’ and Girls’ competitions this time.

The squads for the under-15 competition have been selected nationwide, with players chosen based on their performances in the national finals. This initiative aims to inspire a new generation of footballers who aspire to pursue professional careers in the sport.

Aaron Kawangu will lead the charge as the head coach for the boys’ team, while Grace Mwango, an esteemed coach with a longstanding affiliation with the local side Elite Ladies, will guide the girls’ team.

Zambia, with a rich football history, including being the reigning under-17 COSAFA champions and 12-time under-20 title holders, aims to establish its dominance in the under-15 tournament. The competition will also see the debut of Madagascar and Eswatini.
