Zambia National Women’s Hockey Team Arrives in Oman for Hockey 5s World Cup

The Zambia National Women’s Hockey Team has successfully landed in Muscat, Oman, ahead of their participation in the 2024 Hockey 5s World Cup. The tournament is scheduled to take place from January 24 to January 27.

Upon arrival at Muscat International Airport at 8:00 AM, the team proceeded to the City Park Hotel, which will serve as their accommodation during the competition. Coach Floyd Chomba has strategically planned a day of rest for the team, incorporating a recovery session later in the day to ensure the players are in optimal condition.

The team’s rigorous preparation includes international friendlies against hosts Oman and Paraguay, with the first matches set to take place tomorrow. These friendly encounters will provide valuable game time and fine-tune the team’s strategies for the upcoming competition.

In Group B of the Hockey 5s World Cup, Zambia is pitted against formidable opponents, including Australia, Ukraine, and familiar rivals South Africa. The team’s opening matches on January 24 will see them face South Africa in the morning and Ukraine in the afternoon. The final group stage match against Australia is scheduled for January 25.
