Zambia Coach Brauce Mwape Finalizes 23-Member Squad For Wafcon Qualifiers Against Angola

Zambia’s head coach, Bruce Mwape, has revealed the official 23-member squad for the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier matches against Angola. Leading the squad is the formidable Copper Queens captain, Barbra Banda, supported by key players like Racheal Kundananji, Racheal Nachula, and Prisca Chilufya.

The striking force includes the locally-based trio of Fridah Kabwe, Charity Mubanga, and Namasiku Lungowe, all of whom have earned their spots in the traveling party.

The Copper Queens are set to depart for Luanda today, gearing up for the first leg scheduled for Wednesday, November 29. The return leg will take place at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on December 5, 2023.

The stakes are high in this WAFCON qualifier, as the winner over the two legs will secure a coveted spot in the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted in Morocco.
