Youngest Captain Kelvin Mwanza Departs FC Muza After Six Years, Joins Power Dynamos
Kelvin Mwanza, the 21-year-old captain of FC Muza, has officially left the Mazabuka-based team after six years of remarkable service. Mwanza, who was the youngest captain in the prestigious MTN Super League during the 2023–2024 season, has now joined the “Aba Yellow” Power Dynamos.
Mwanza’s move to Power Dynamos comes after an impressive stint with FC Muza, where he played a pivotal role in the team’s rise through the ranks of Zambian football. Despite his deep ties to FC Muza, where he was a key figure both on and off the field, the young captain decided to make the switch during the preseason.
FC Muza, recognizing Mwanza’s immense contribution to their success, made a strong effort to retain him by offering a lucrative new contract. However, Mwanza was resolute in his decision to move on, seeking new challenges with Power Dynamos.
Mwanza was instrumental in FC Muza’s ascent to the MTN Super League in 2022, where they quickly made a name for themselves as one of the youngest teams to fearlessly compete against seasoned giants. In their debut 2022–23 season, FC Muza finished second in the league, earning them a spot in the Confederation Cup competition. The team also made it to the ABSA Cup finals, where they narrowly missed out on the title, finishing as runners-up to Forest Rangers.
Under Mwanza’s leadership, FC Muza consistently placed in the top four of the MTN Super League, outperforming some of Zambia’s more established and influential football clubs. His departure marks the end of an era for FC Muza, but also the beginning of a promising new chapter for both Mwanza and Power Dynamos.
As Mwanza embarks on this new journey, he leaves behind a legacy of determination, leadership, and success at FC Muza, with fans and teammates alike wishing him well in his future endeavors.
