Warriors Prepare for Quarterfinal Showdown Against Oilmen in Absa Cup 2024

This Saturday, FAZ National Division One side Indeni will face off against Kabwe Warriors in the Absa Cup 2024 quarterfinals, aiming to continue their impressive run in the tournament.

Indeni secured their spot in the quarterfinals by defeating Nkwazi 4-3 on penalties. Kabwe Warriors, on the other hand, advanced by beating Lumwana Radiants 1-0, thanks to a goal from Frederick Mwimanzi in the 57th minute.

Oilmen coach Tenant Chembo expressed confidence in his team’s ability, seeing the Absa Cup as a test of their ambition to secure Super League football this season. “We are playing against one of the great teams with a rich football history. We will give it our all and have told the players to go out there and enjoy the game. Our main target is to qualify for the premier league,” Chembo said.

Captain Martin Phiri echoed Chembo’s sentiments, stating that the Oilmen are prepared for battle and will do whatever it takes to reach the pre-semi-final stage. Meanwhile, Warriors skipper Clement Mundia is eager to make an impression in the tournament after his outstanding performance in the round of 16.

Warriors coach Numba Mumamba emphasized the importance of the upcoming match against Indeni. “This (Indeni) is a team that has played in the premier league several times. We expect a very tough game. We are geared up and have done our homework,” Numba said. “Our target is to get the result that will see us progress to the semi-finals. We have a good team that can beat any team at any given time. We have worked on our weaknesses, and we are ready.”

The match will kick off at 12:30 at Nkoloma Stadium, with tickets available for K30 open wing and K100 VIP at all Shoprite stores countrywide via CompuTicket.
