The schedule for the Zambia National Team in the upcoming 2023 AFCON has been officially released in preparation for the 34th edition of this biennial tournament.
The Chipolopolo Boys are set to commence their journey in the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Côte d’Ivoire 2023 by facing Congo DR on Wednesday, January 17th.
This match will be held at the Stade Laurent Pokou in San Pedro. The unveiling of this schedule comes on the heels of CAF’s recent draw in Abidjan.
Kicking off the tournament, the host nation, Cote d’Ivoire, will go head-to-head with Guinea-Bissau on January 13, 2024, at the Alassane Ouattara Olympic Stadium of Ebimpe, situated in Abidjan. The match is scheduled to begin at 20:00 local time (GMT).
Zambia will return to the field on January 21st, where they will take on the East African team, Tanzania. Avram Grant’s team will conclude their group stage campaign with a challenging match against Morocco on Wednesday, January 24th.
Following the group stage, the round of 16 will take place between January 27th and 30th, while the quarter-finals are scheduled for February 2nd and 3rd.
The semi-finals will unfold on February 7th, with the third-place play-off and the final set to be played on February 10th and 11th, respectively.
