Sundowns Confirm Zambia Camp
South African Premiership powerhouse Mamelodi Sundowns is heading to Zambia this month for a preseason camp.
The South African giants will be bringing both their junior and veteran squads (“Madala’s team”) to take part in a competitive tournament. The event is set to be held at Woodlands Stadium and will feature the Sundowns sides, Ministry of Lands, City of Lusaka, and other local teams.
In an interview with the media, City of Lusaka Club Chairperson Justine Shawa confirmed that the tournament kicks off on May 25, 2026, in Lusaka.
According to Shawa, this is a major opportunity to boost Zambia’s profile as a sport tourism destination.
“The more teams choose Zambia for their preseason tours, the more our country will begin to attract clubs from across the region,” Shawa said.
He wrapped up with a call to local football fans: come out in numbers, fill the stadium, and cheer on the games.
