Sekanji Siame, the emerging young defender, earned the title of Player of the Match last Friday during the intense encounter between Konkola Blades and Power Dynamos, which concluded with a 1-1 draw at Arthur Davies Stadium.

Siame showcased his skills at right back for the team coached by Beston Chambeshi, continuing to make a significant impact in his debut season in the MTN Super League. Since his inaugural appearance on November 4, 2023, in the 1-0 triumph over Mutondo Stars, the 2023 U-17 COSAFA winner has consistently impressed during his three-month tenure at Konkola Blades.

In that pivotal debut match, Siame, stationed at right back, not only exhibited defensive prowess but also contributed to the team’s success by providing an assist for Eric Etienne’s goal. He has since solidified his position in the lineup.

Regarding the recent match, Eric Etienne secured an early lead for Blades in the third minute with a close-range finish. Abayellow responded in the 38th minute, as skipper Godfrey Ngwenya equalized with a beautifully executed curled shot.

Despite the draw, Power Dynamos maintains its position in third place, while Konkola temporarily ascends to the 8th spot with 25 points.

It’s noteworthy that Siame is currently on an 18-month loan deal at Konkola Blades, originating from Sporting Lusaka, a team in the Lusaka Provincial Division 4.
