Red Arrows Set Their Sights on Charity Shield
After their recent defeat to YANGA SC during the Day of Mwanachi, Chisi Mbewe’s Red Arrows have now set their sights on the 2024 Carling Black Label Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield.
The Airmen, eager to add more silverware to their collection, will face Kabwe Warriors in this prestigious Zambian Breweries-sponsored event on Saturday at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
Red Arrows recently boosted their morale by winning the 2024 CECAFA Dar Port Kagame Interclub Cup in Tanzania, earning a $30,000 prize.
Last season, the team clinched both the MTN Super League title and the ABSA Cup, further solidifying their dominance in Zambian football.
Chisi Mbewe will use the Charity Shield as a vital part of his team’s preparations for the upcoming CAF Champions League.
The Airmen are set to face Nyasa Big Bullets of Malawi in the 1st Preliminary Round of the 2024/25 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League.
This two-legged tie is scheduled to take place between August 16th and 25th. A win over the two legs would see Red Arrows advance to the 2nd Preliminary Round, where they would meet TP Mazembe of DRC in September.
Fans attending the match at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium will have a chance to win various prizes, with gates opening at 10:00 AM.
The day will feature a double-header, with Green Buffaloes Women’s FC taking on Choma Warriors at 12:00 PM, followed by the Red Arrows vs. Kabwe Warriors clash at 3:00 PM.
